Interviewed several contractors for estimates to renovate our 2 bathrooms which were builder grade original from 2002. Steve was by far the best one in timeliness, knowledge and time to get quote. While he wasn't the cheapest (remember - cheap doesn't equal good), his quote was the most detailed, laying everything out he was going to do and what was included in the price rather than just a $ amount with no detail. He answered all my questions along the way, went with me to pick tile, etc. During the process he was just as impressive. He had to return the shower pan I ordered because it was the wrong type and go find a replacement for me. When he began installing the tile, he noticed it had a less than desirable wavy look on the wall and called me right way and said "I don't think you're going to like this." I trusted him and told him to take it down without even seeing it as we live in PA full time. Most contractors would just install what you picked and say oh well. Not Steve. He then took extra time to find a replacement which I absolutely love, and was even a bit less expensive than the first one, so it turned out for the better. He kept me updated every step of the way and we could not be happier! We will definitely be using Steve and his crew when it's time to gut and redo the kitchen.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Steve Lord. We purchased an older home in Ocean City in 2023 that was in great condition structurally but needed significant updates. While I consider myself fairly handy, there were several projects that required the expertise of a contractor I could truly trust. Steve's name came up multiple times - always with strong recommendations highlighting his skill, reliability, fairness, and quality of execution. We've since worked with him on several projects, with a full kitchen renovation planned for the fall. We've used contractors in the past but will not use anyone other than Lord Boards Construction going forward. Steve has given us such fine craftsmanship and attention to detail in our Ocean City home that can't be found in other contractors. His hands on approach, being personally on every project that he has done for us maintains the top quality that can get lost in larger outfits who use subs for everything. While his vision is broad and creative, he is very upfront, transparent, and fair in his pricing and has never promised anything that he can't deliver. A true diamond in the rough.
